Christina Chewning, LMHC, CCTP

Christina is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) MH22747, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART), and Brainspotting practitioner.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Counseling from Trinity College of Florida and her master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.

Christina is a skilled clinician dedicated to helping individuals and couples from all walks of life navigate through difficult challenges and life adjustments. As a spouse of a fire Captain, Christina is passionate about the mental health of those who sacrifice daily for others. This passion fuels her focus for caring for the mental health of first responders, whose dedication to the health and safety of those in their communities can often lead to challenges of their own. Not only can she understand their struggle on a personal level, she also has extensive and relevant training to help. Christina also has experience with people in toxic relationships that need help navigating to healthier lifestyles.    Additionally, Christina has 20 years of leadership experience in the corporate HealthCare IT world, which allows her to understand the demands of life, work, and balance.  She uses her life experience and continuing education courses, training, and certifications to help all clients coming into her office.  

Christina specializes in helping individuals navigate anxiety, self-confidence, self-esteem, career counseling, post-traumatic stress, and PTSD. She also offers pre-marital and marital counseling using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Prepare Enrich Assessment. Christina tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client, utilizing a variety of evidence-based counseling techniques. These include Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), EFT, Client/Person-Centered Therapy, and Brainspotting. For those who request it, she also integrates Biblical principles into her therapeutic methods.

Christina has a thirst for knowledge, a passion to share the knowledge and provide helpful tools to each of her clients healing journey. 

Christina is married to Roger, who is both a Fire Captain/Paramedic for a local Fire Department and a licensed Realtor. They have a Boxer, Geiger.  Geiger is a therapy dog and used onsite.   They also have a couple cats that stay home.  Their favorite activities include boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, and playing with their fur babies. They are members of theChapel.cc and active in their community.
